Start slow and build up over time
From lessons that fall under the “Strengthen Resilience” intention to Meditation, Breathwork and more – I use a range of videos across Studio You, but I think a good way to introduce the platform to your students is to begin by using it in small doses. So, using it at first as a lower-intensity warm-up style session. The 10-minute videos work well in focusing and preparing the students for exercise and this will allow students time to get familiar with Studio You and its structure. Plus, it will allow you as a teacher to gauge whether the videos work for your students.
Ask students which sessions they want to do
Once your students have been exposed to some of the Studio You videos, I’d recommend asking them which sessions they felt most comfortable with. I found this approach helped create a confident and relaxed atmosphere. More broadly, I’d make sure to show them the wider website and the other resources on offer – so they’re aware of all the topics that Studio You covers.
Get involved and give encouragement
I found that encouragement is key to getting the students started. I make sure that everyone joins in from the get-go, even myself (and other teachers), as this helps reduce embarrassment and self-consciousness. And once they’ve eased in and are familiar with the content, they actually motivate one another!

Our collection of easy-to-digest lessons give girls choice and variety, with a range of disciplines and intensity levels so that students can go at their own pace and recognise progress over time.
